Welcome to NY indeed || Day 1

Welcome to New York indeed.

It was incredible and so far I haven't met a big city that I haven't loved! There's just something charming about the hustle, tall buildings and people who are fashion forward. I wanna go back right now just thinking about it.

New York Now trade show is what brought me to this incredible city. One of my close gal pals (Bri) is the owner and head designer of Little Arrow and she invited me to work in her booth at the show all week. The trade show takes place at the Javits Center and there are three HUGE floors filled with thousands and thousands of fun brands. Big brands like Rifle Paper Co., Sunnylife and S'well were there and their booths were so fun to explore. I can't imagine being a buyer and having to work my way through all those booths!

I'm going to break this trip up into multiple blog posts because that's just more fun and so I can show you ALL the pictures.

DAY 1:

We flew into JFK early evening on Friday and had brought the rain with us from Oregon. We Ubered to our hotel, got settled, fixed ourselves up a bit and headed out to look for dinner. We were tired from traveling all day and extremely hungry (like the indecisive, I'm so hungry I don't even know what sounds good type of hungry), but we didn't want to just settle for anything-- we were in freaking NY, it had to be good. We walked and searched for about an hour around our hotel and finally landed on a place called Bea. It was darling! Exposed white washed brick, moody, dark lighting, tons of photos in old barn wood frames. The wait staff was the friendliest and the cocktails and food were UNREAL! Everything we ordered was great. We started off with cocktails, a beet salad and some oysters and then got a glass of wine with our chicken and burger. I wish I would've taken more photos, but we were starving and so sleepy.

Food and some alcohol for sure gave us a second wind so we headed to Times Square on our way back to the hotel. My phone died literally as we were walking into the square-- really poor planning on my part, so I got zero photos. SO. MANY. LIGHTS. We did a quick walk through, Bri got hit on by a NY cop (awkward and hilarious) then headed back to the hotel got ready for bed and hit the sack.

Day two has way more pictures (promise).
