This shoot is one of my favs! I love the color palette, the marble escort cards, the blooms, the dresses-- it's just so pretty and girly! I'm so so excited to share more about my inspiration for this shot and to announce that it is being featured on 100 Layer cake! Woohoo #praisehands
Monique (who I'd never worked with before, I love working with new vendors) came to me with the idea of a bridesmaids styled shoot, I LOVED it! Most styled shoots floating around the bridal blogs and social media focus on the bride and groom or just a bride, but rarely the bridesmaids. The initial vision was vintage tea party, with floral patterned cups and antique details, but I wasn't completely thrilled with the idea because I had seen it before. It's really hard to have an absolute original idea anymore with pintrest, but I am always asking myself "how can I make this a little bit different?" I had been dying to use marble in one of my shoots and that's when the idea came to me.. Let's do a modern and more up-to-date tea party, one that still had the dainty details, but that wasn't over taken by the classic tea party floral patterns.
The clear tea cups were my first find. My mind set less is always more, so when I found them I knew they were perfect! They would really let the pink anthropologie plates (my next find) and fresh blooms from Good Seed Floral shine. I also loved that the tea cups had a modern silhouette and played off the marble escort cards well. Clink + Kiss nailed the escort cards, am I right?! I was so thrilled with how the rest of the details came together.
I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as I do :)
